Ingredients

  • 2.5 cups - basmati rice
  • 3 - large onions
  • 1 inch piece - ginger
  • 4-6 - green cardamoms
  • 10-15 - pepper corns
  • 2 - bay leaves
  • 3 - cloves
  • 1 - cinnamon
  • 1 tsp - jeera
  • 2-3 tbsp - oil
  • 2.5 cups - water

How to Make Bhugal Chanvar

  • Soak the rice for 3 hours.
  • Heat 2-3 tbsp of oil and add all the spices.
  • When the spices stop spluttering, add the onions and ginger.
  • When the onions turn golden brown, add the rice and cook for 2 minutes.
  • Add 2.5 cups of water and cook until done.
  • Serve with sai bhaji and boondi raita.
