Ingredients

  • 1/2 kg - Bitter gourd
  • 4 tbsp - sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp - chilli powder
  • 2 tbsp - coriander powder
  • salt to taste
  • a pinch - Asafoetida
  • 1 tsp - mustard
  • small quantity - Turmeric

How to Make Bitter gourd curry

  • Wash and cut bitter gourd after removing all the seeds.
  • Boil it for 10 minutes (either in pressure cooker or microwave oven).
  • Heat oil in a pan/kadai and splutter mustard.
  • Then add asafoetida and bitter gourd.
  • Add chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and salt to taste.
  • Fry it for some 20 minutes.
