Ingredients

  • 3 - Bitter gourds
  • 2 - Onions chopped
  • 1 tsp - Ginger paste
  • 2 tbsp - Coconut paste
  • 3 - Green chilli
  • 1 tsp - Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 2 tbsp - oil
  • Salt to taste.
  • How to Make Bitter Gourd Side Dish:

    1. Scrape the bitter gourds then cut into small pieces.
    2. Heat oil in a pan and add the mustard seeds.
    3. When they begin to splutter, add the onions and green chilli and fry till brown.
    4. Add the ginger paste and saute for a few minutes.
    5. Mix in the bitter gourd, coconut, turmeric and salt and mix well.
    6. Add 1 cup of water and cook on low heat till the bitter gourd is cooked and all the water dries up.
    7. Serve hot.
