Ingredients

  • 4 tbsp - cocoa
  • 3 tbsp - Butter
  • 3 tbsp - boiling water
  • 2 drops - red color
  • 2 - eggs
  • 1/2 cup - powdered Sugar
  • 1/2 cup - sifted flour
  • 1/2 tsp - baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp - salt
  • 1/2 tsp - vanilla essence
  • 1/2 cup - walnuts, chopped
  • 1/2 cup - Cream cheese
  • 1 - Egg
  • 2 tbsp - Butter
  • 1/2 cup - Sugar
  • 1 tbsp - flour
  • 1/2 tsp - vanilla essence

How to Make Black And White Brownies

  • Combine the cocoa, boiling water, butter and red colour.
  • Stir until the cocoa has dissolved and then cool.
  • Place a bowl in a pan of hot water.
  • Beat 2 eggs and the powdered sugar in the bowl until thick and fluffy.
  • Sift the flour with the baking powder and salt.
  • Fold the flour and cocoa mixture into the eggs.
  • Add the vanilla essence and the chopped walnuts.
  • Liquidise the cream cheese with the egg, butter, sugar, flour and vanilla essence.
  • Grease and flour an 8 inch square baking tin.
  • Drop alternate spoonful of chocolate and cream cheese mixtures into the tin, run a knife through it to give a marbled effect.
  • Bake at 180 degrees C for about 20 to 25 minutes.
  • Cool and cut into squares.
