Ingredients

  • Mocchakottai - 1/4 kg
  • Pumpkin (cut into medium pieces) - 1/2 kg
  • Sambar powder - 3 tsp
  • For grinding:
  • Coconut powder - 7 -8 tsp
  • Cumin seeds - 1.5 tsp
  • Red Chillies - 5 -6
  • How to Make Black eyed beans or mocchakottai kootu:

    1. Boil mocchakottai in water. When it's done, keep it aside.
    2. Cook pumpkin in little water with some salt and keep it aside.
    3. Now, grind the coconut, cumin seeds and chillies with some water into a fine paste.
    4. Add this mixture to the mocchakotai and pumpkin. Then add sambar powder to it.
    5. Add salt as well. Mix everything together.
