Ingredients

  • 2 cup - fresh coconut, grated
  • 2 - dry chillies
  • 1 pinch - Asafoetida powder
  • 7 - Cashew nuts
  • A few - Curry leaves
  • 1/2 tsp - each of Urad Dal and Channa dal
  • 2 tbsp - Ghee
  • 1/2 tsp - Mustard Seeds
  • 2 cup - Rice
  • How to Make Bland Coconut Rice:

    1. In a pan, pour ghee and splutter mustard seeds
    2. Lower the flame and add cashews, urad dal, channa dal, chillies, curry leaves and asafoetida powder.
    3. Let cashews and dals become light reddish in colour.
    4. Now add grated coconut and fry for 7 to 8 minutes
    5. Boil the rice separately and cool
    6. Now add the above fried ingredients to the rice and add salt and mix it very well
    7. Serve
