Ingredients

  • 8 slices bread- cut each slice into quarters
  • 3 - eggs beaten
  • 2 cups - Milk
  • 4 tbsp - Sugar
  • 1/4 tsp - salt
  • 2 tsp - vanilla extract or essence
  • 2 tbsp - Butter
  • 1 tsp -ground Cinnamon

How to Make Bombay Toast Casserole

  • Pre-heat the oven to 175 degrees C (350 degrees F). Lightly butter a suitable oven proof dish.
  • Line the bottom of the pan with the bread. Spread well so that the bottom is covered completely.
  • Mix the eggs, milk, sugar, salt and vanilla together in a large bowl. Pour this egg mixture over bread. Let it stand for 10 mins till the bread soaks up almost all the mixture. Dot the top with the butter. Mix 1 tbsp sugar with 1 tsp cinnamon powder and sprinkle over the top.
  • Bake in preheated oven for about 25 to 30 mins or until top is nice and golden and a little crunchy.
