  • 1 kg - boiled Potatoes
  • 2 cups - Gram Flour (Besan)
  • Turmeric powder
  • Oil for frying
  • Salt as per the taste.
  • Pav - according to need
  • Masala:
  • 1 small piece Ginger
  • 4-5 flakes of Garlic
  • 4-5 Green chillies
  • 1/2 cup Coriander leaves (chopped)
  • For tempering:
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • Curry leaves
  • 1 tsp Mustard Seeds and 2 tsp Oil
  • How to Make Bombay Vada Pav:

    1. Grind ginger, garlic and green chillies together into a paste. Peel and mash boiled potatoes.
    2. Add ginger-garlic-green chillies paste, coriander leaves, and salt to it.
    3. Then take 2 tsp of oil in a kadai. Add mustard seeds. As soon as they start spluttering, add turmeric powder and curry leaves. Pour this tempering on the potato mixture and mix it properly.
    4. Make small balls of this potato mixture. ( You can make flat balls by pressing them in palms)
    5. Now add some salt and turmeric powder to the gram flour. Mix it together. Add some water to make a thick batter. Remove the lumps.
    6. Heat some oil in a pan. Dip the balls in gram flour and deep fry till golden brown.
    7. Slit the Pav keeping the base intact and spread Garlic Chutney or Green Chutney on the inner sides of it. Place the vada into it. And enjoy the Indian Burger!
