Ingredients

  • 6-8 slices - bread
  • 2 cups - sugar
  • 1 cup - water
  • Oil for deep frying
  • Milk as required
  • Crushed cardamom (optional)

How to Make Bread Jamun

  • Mash the bread (edges trimmed) with adequate milk to make a soft dough.
  • Roll dough into balls by gently rolling a small portion between your palms.
  • Deep fry the balls over medium heat. This will ensure cooking from inside out
  • Meanwhile, make the sugar by heating the sugar and water.
  • Add cardamom to enhance the flavour.
  • Add the bread jamuns into the syrup and soak for a few hours.
  • Bread jamuns can be served warm or cold.
