Ingredients

  • 18 slices - wheat bread
  • 1 tin - diced tomatoes
  • 1 - big onion, chopped
  • red chilli powder to per taste
  • sambar powder as required
  • salt to taste
  • oil for frying

How to Make Bread Upma spiced with Sambar Masala

  • Cut the bread slices into small pieces and keep aside.
  • Heat a little vegetable oil in a pan and fry the chopped onion until golden brown.
  • Add the diced tomatoes and lightly cook them.
  • Add red chilli powder, sambar powder and salt to taste.
  • Add very little water to the mixture and then the bread chunks.
  • Mix the ingredients well and warm up for some time before switching off the stove. Serve hot.
