  • 3 cups - idli rava
  • 1 cup - urad dal
  • 1/2 tsp - salt

How to Make Breakfast Idli

  • Soak urad dal and rava separately for 6-8 hrs. Grind them together to make a thick paste. Leave to ferment overnight.
  • The next day, add salt and mix well.
  • Grease idli plates with oil and pour the mixture.
  • Steam the idli plates with no whistle for about 10 mins.
  • Turn off and remove idli plates and sprinkle water.
  • Scoop out the idlis with a wet spoon occasionally dipping it in a cup of water.
  • Serve idlis with chutney/sambar.
