Ingredients

  • 1 - brinjal
  • 3 - whole red chillies
  • 1 tsp - cumin
  • 1 tbsp - tamarind pulp
  • 7 flakes - garlic
  • 1 stalk - curry leaves
  • 3 tsp - oil
  • 1 tsp - mustard seeds
  • Salt as desired.

How to Make Brinjal and Red Chilli Chutney

  • Heat oil in a pan, add cumin and red chillies, and fry. When they are done, drain and keep aside.
  • In the same oil, saute the chopped brinjal until it is cooked. Allow it to cool.
  • Grind all the ingredients except the mustard to a smooth paste.
  • Heat the remaining oil and add mustard seeds. When they crackle, add the ground brinjal paste. Mix well and serve.
