Ingredients

  • 200g - broken wheat/samba rava
  • 1 - Green chilli
  • 1/2 inch - Ginger
  • 1 Red Chilli
  • 1 - Onion
  • 1 - Tomato
  • 1 - small Carrot
  • 1 tsp - oil
  • 1/2 tsp - Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 tsp - Urad Dal
  • 1/2 tsp - Channa dal
  • 1 tsp - Peanuts (roasted/raw)
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 sprig - Curry leaves
  • How to Make Broken Wheat Rava Upma:

    1. Finely chop the onion, tomato, carrot, ginger, and green chilli.
    2. Heat oil and temper the mustard seeds, dals, peanuts, curry leaves, and broken red chilli.
    3. Add onions and chilli and fry for 3 minutes.
    4. Add tomatoes, carrot, ginger, rava, and salt and fry for 2 more minutes.
    5. Add one and a half cups of water and stir well.
    6. Cover and cook on a low flame for about 8 minutes or till done.
