Ingredients

  • 200 g - butter beans/lima beans, soaked for about 1 hour
  • 2 - onions, chopped
  • 2 - tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 tsp - garlic paste
  • 2 - green chillies, chopped
  • 2 tbsp - oil
  • 1 tsp - chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp - turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp - garam masala powder
  • 1 tsp - cumin powder
  • 1 - small piece cinnamon
  • A few - curry leaves
  • 2 tbsp - chopped coriander leaves
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Butter Beans-Lima Beans Curry

  • Boil beans in a little salted water till tender, and drain it
  • Heat oil in a pan and saute the onion, cinnamon and curry leaves for a little while
  • Add the tomatoes, garam masala/spice powder, cumin powder and salt and stir fry till the oil separates from the mixture
  • Add the boiled butter beans/lima beans and 1 cup water and simmer on low heat till the gravy thickens
  • Garnish with chopped coriander leaves
