Ingredients

  • 200 g - Butter beans/lima beans, soaked for about 1 hour
  • 2 - onions, chopped
  • 2 - tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 tsp - Garlic paste
  • 2 - green chillies, chopped
  • 2 tbsp - oil
  • 1 tsp - chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp - Garam Masala powder
  • 1 tsp - cumin powder
  • 1 - small piece Cinnamon
  • A few - Curry leaves
  • 2 tbsp - chopped Coriander leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • How to Make Butter Beans-Lima Beans Curry:

    1. Boil beans in a little salted water till tender, and drain it
    2. Heat oil in a pan and saute the onion, cinnamon and curry leaves for a little while
    3. Add the tomatoes, garam masala/spice powder, cumin powder and salt and stir fry till the oil separates from the mixture
    4. Add the boiled butter beans/lima beans and 1 cup water and simmer on low heat till the gravy thickens
    5. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves
