How to Make Butter Chicken (Chicken Makhani)

  • Cut and blend tomatoes well in a blender to a puree.
  • Grind together onion, garlic and ginger to a paste.
  • In the dish, mix oil and onion paste. Microwave on high uncovered for 4 minutes.
  • Add tomato puree, garam masala, jeera powder, dhania powder, red chilli powder, sugar, chicken and methi.
  • Microwave on high covered for 6 minutes.
  • Add salt, orange colour and cashew nut paste.
  • Microwave on high uncovered for 2 minutes.
  • Add malai or cream. Mix well.
  • Let it stand for 1-2 minutes.
  • Sprinkle methi and cashew nut pieces on top and serve hot.
