Ingredients

  • 1 - egg, separated
  • 2/3 cup - Sugar
  • 1/2 cup - evaporated Milk
  • 1 cup - flour
  • 2 tsp - baking powder
  • 1/8 tsp - salt
  • 3/4 tsp - Lemon extract
  • 2 tbsp - evaporated Milk
  • 1 cup - powdered Sugar
  • How to Make Butterless cake with sugar icing:

    1. Put the egg yolk in a mixing bowl and beat until light.
    2. Gradually add the sugar and milk while beating continuously.
    3. Sift your flour, baking powder, and salt together; set aside.
    4. Beat egg white until stiff; fold dry ingredients into egg white.
    5. Add egg white mixture and flavouring to sugar-milk mixture, blending well.
    6. Pour batter in a prepared 8-inch square pan.
    7. Bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 mins.
    8. For icing:
    9. Warm 2 tbsp evaporated milk in a small saucepan and add the 3/4 tsp lemon extract and 1 cup powdered sugar.
    10. Spread over the cake.
