Ingredients

  • 1 small - cabbage, chopped
  • 1 - onion, chopped
  • 1 tsp - roasted and crushed Coriander seeds
  • 1/2 tsp - Cumin seeds
  • 3 - dry Red Chillies
  • 3 small - Carrots scraped and chopped into small pieces
  • 1 tomato, chopped
  • 4 tbsp - Coconut paste
  • 1/2 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp - chilli powder
  • 2 tbsp - oil
  • Salt to taste
  • How to Make Cabbage And Carrot Side Dish:

    1. Heat oil and saute the onions till light brown.
    2. Add the red chillies, coriander and cumin seeds and fry for a minute.
    3. Then add the tomato and stir fry till for a few minutes.
    4. Add the shredded cabbage and carrots and stir fry for a couple of minutes.
    5. Add the chilli powder, salt coconut and turmeric powder and mix well.
    6. Simmer for about 5 to 7 minutes on low heat till the cabbage and carrots are cooked.
    7. Serve as a side dish with rice and chapattis.
