Ingredients

  • 1 - Medium size cabbage
  • 1 cup - Cooked green peas
  • 2 - Medium sized onions, chopped
  • 1 - Bay leaf
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp - Chilli powder
  • 1 tbsp - Chopped mint
  • Tbsp - Oil
  • 2 - Tomatoes, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp - Cumin powder

How to Make Cabbage and Green Peas Casserole

  • Wash and trim the outer leaves of the cabbage, cut into quarters and then shred it, throw away the hard centre core.
  • Heat oil in a pan and fry the chopped onions till golden brown.
  • Add the tomatoes, bay leaf, peas, shredded cabbage, chilli powder, cumin powder, salt and mix well.
  • Cover and simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Transfer to an ovenproof dish.
  • Sprinkle the mint on top.
  • Bake in a moderate oven (355 degrees F) for 15 minutes.
  • This dish should be moist.
  • Serve with toast or rice.
