  • 1 - medium sized Cabbage
  • 8 - sausages, each cut into 4 pieces
  • 2 - medium sized onions, chopped
  • 1 - Bay Leaf
  • 1 tsp - salt
  • 1 tsp - chilli powder
  • 1 tsp - chopped Celery
  • 2 tbsp - Butter
  • 2 - green cooking apples (Optional)
  • How to Make Cabbage And Sausage Casserole:

    1. Wash and trim the outer leaves of the cabbage, cut it into quarters then shared it.
    2. Throw away the hard centre core.
    3. Peel and cut the apples into slices then soak in cold water.
    4. Melt the butter in a pan and fry the chopped onions till golden brown.
    5. Add the sausage bits, bay leaf, apple slices, shredded cabbage, chilly powder and salt and mix well.
    6. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes till the cabbage and apples are soft.
    7. Transfer to an ovenproof dish. Sprinkle the celery on top.
    8. Bake in a moderate oven (355 degrees F) for 15 minutes. This dish should be in moist.
    9. Serve with toast or rice.
