Ingredients

  • 1 - medium sized Cabbage
  • 8 - sausages, each cut into 4 pieces
  • 2 - medium sized onions, chopped
  • 1 - Bay Leaf
  • 1 tsp - salt
  • 1 tsp - chilli powder
  • 1 tsp - chopped Celery
  • 2 tbsp - Butter
  • 2 - green cooking apples (Optional)

How to Make Cabbage And Sausage Casserole

  • Wash and trim the outer leaves of the cabbage, cut it into quarters then shared it.
  • Throw away the hard centre core.
  • Peel and cut the apples into slices then soak in cold water.
  • Melt the butter in a pan and fry the chopped onions till golden brown.
  • Add the sausage bits, bay leaf, apple slices, shredded cabbage, chilly powder and salt and mix well.
  • Cover and simmer for 20 minutes till the cabbage and apples are soft.
  • Transfer to an ovenproof dish. Sprinkle the celery on top.
  • Bake in a moderate oven (355 degrees F) for 15 minutes. This dish should be in moist.
  • Serve with toast or rice.
