Ingredients

  • 1 cup - grated Cabbage
  • 1.5 cups - besan
  • 1 to 2 - chopped Green chillies
  • 1 - small onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 tsp - baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp - chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 tsp - Garlic-ginger paste
  • A pinch of Asafoetida
  • 2 tbsp - oil or Butter
  • 1/2 cup - coriander leaves, chopped

How to Make Cabbage Bites

  • Combine all the ingredients (except the oil) with some water to form a smooth, non-flowing batter.
  • While it sits for some time, grease the insides of your steaming dish or idli mould.
  • Pour the batter into it and steam for about 10-15 minutes.
  • Use the tooth-pick or dry-knife test to check if the cabbage bites are done.
