Cut cabbage, wash Bengal gram dal and put both together in a pressure cooker along with all the ingredients like chopped onion, tomatoes, green chilly, ginger, garlic, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, salt and asafoetida.
Mix all the contents well and pour required water.
Boil it for some 20 minutes.
Now add grated coconut and mix them well.
