Ingredients

  • 1 cup - Rice
  • 3 - capsicum, large chopped
  • 1 - onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cup - Chana dal
  • 1/4 cup - Urad Dal
  • 3 tbsp - Coriander seeds
  • 10-14 - whole Red Chillies
  • 1 stick - Cinnamon
  • 5-6 - Cloves
  • 2 - green chillies, chopped
  • 1 tsp - Cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp - Mustard Seeds
  • A few - Curry leaves
  • Coriander leaves - chopped
  • 2 tsp - Lemon juice
  • Salt to taste
  • Grated Coconut - 3 tbsp
  • How to Make Capsicum Rice in Spices:

    1. Cook rice and keep it aside.
    2. Fry chana dal, urad dal, coriander seeds, red chillies, cinnamon, cloves separately until they become light brown.
    3. Then make a smooth powder of all these.
    4. Heat oil in a kadai.
    5. Then add mustard seeds, cumin seeds and saute for a minute.
    6. Then add onions and saute well.
    7. Add capsicum and fry until they are soft.
    8. After that add the rice and mix well.
    9. Add 3 tbsp powder and mix well.
    10. Sprinkle salt and lemon juice and mix thoroughly.
    11. Then add curry leaves and chopped coriander leaves along with grated coconut.
    12. Sprinkle a little more powder on top to garnish .
    13. Serve hot.
