Ingredients

  • Medium Carrots - 3
  • Hot Green chillies - 3
  • Garlic - 1 Clove
  • Tamarind and salt - according to your taste buds
  • For seasoning:
  • Oil - 1/2 tbsp
  • Dry Red Chilli - 1
  • Bengal Gram - 1/2 tsp
  • Split black gram - 1/2 tsp
  • Mustard Seeds - 1/4 tsp
  • Cumin seeds - 1/4 tsp
  • Curry leaves
  • Asafoetida (optional)
  • How to Make Carrot Chutney:

    1. Fry green chillies in 1/2 tbsp hot oil for 3 minutes and take them out of the oil (the same oil can be used for seasoning).
    2. Cut carrots into pieces so that it will be easy to grind.
    3. Without adding water grind carrot pieces, fried green chillies, garlic, tamarind and salt until the carrots and chillies are finely grated.
    4. Fry all the ingredients for seasoning in oil until the cumin seeds pop and add them to the carrot mix.
    5. Tastes good with rice or chapati.
