Ingredients

  • 1 kg - Carrots
  • 1.5 litre - Milk
  • 500 g - Sugar
  • A few - strands of Saffron
  • 1 tsp - Cardamom powder
  • 20 pieces - almonds, soaked in water for 5 hours
  • 15 pieces - Pista
  • 15 pieces - cashew nuts, soaked in water for 2 hours
  • 4 tbsp - fresh Cream

How to Make Carrot Halwa with nuts

  • Peel and grate carrots.
  • In a thick-bottomed pan, add milk and carrots and boil till thick, stirring occasionally.
  • Once it starts thickening, stir continuously.
  • Add sugar and cook further till it thickens more.
  • Add fresh cream, saffron, cardamom powder and half of the almonds, pista, cashew nuts.
  • Stir on low heat till the mixture forms a soft ball.
  • Garnish with the remaining dry fruits and serve hot .
