  • 4 cups grated Carrot
  • 3 cups Chickpea flour (Senagapindi, Besan)
  • 1 cup powdered peanuts/groundnuts (roasted or raw)
  • 1/2 cup grated Coconut (fresh or dry)
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  • a handful of cilantro, chopped finely
  • a small piece of ginger, skin peeled and chopped finely
  • chopped Green chillies or chilli powder, as needed (we added 6 Green chillies)
  • a pinch of soda
  • salt as needed
  • oil to Deep Fried
  • How to Make Carrot vadas:

    1. Add all the ingredients (except the oil) in a bowl and mix together to make a thick dough using a very little water. Keep aside.
    2. Pour oil in a deep skillet and heat. When it becomes hot, take small batches of the dough, shape into a small circle and drop carefully into the hot oil.
    3. When they become cooked and change colour, remove from the hot oil and place on a plate covered with paper towel.
    4. Let them cool for some time before you serve.
    5. Repeat the same process with the remaining dough/batter.
