Ingredients

  • 1 - big Cauliflower
  • 1/4 cup - Green peas
  • 1/2 - onion, cut lengthwise
  • 1/2 medium sized - tomato, cubed
  • 1/2 tsp - chilli powder
  • 1 generous pinch - Turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp - coriander leaves, chopped finely
  • 2 tbsp - oil
  • salt
  • Grind to a paste:
  • 1/4 cup - Coconut
  • 1 tsp - fennel
  • 5 - cashews
  • 1 - Onion
  • 1 - Tomato
  • 1 tbsp - roasted gram dal
  • 4 pods - Garlic
  • 2 - Green chillies
  • 1/2 inch piece - Cinnamon
  • 1 - Clove
  • How to Make Cauliflower Peas Kurma:

    1. Grind all the ingredients for the paste with a little water and keep aside.
    2. Chop cauliflower into small florets and pressure cook along with peas, salt and turmeric powder - till half done.
    3. Heat oil in a pan, add onions and fry till golden brown. Then add tomatoes, fry until the raw smell leaves.
    4. Add chilli powder and turmeric powder and mix well.
    5. Now add the ground paste and fry till the raw smell leaves and oil separates.
    6. Add 1/4 cup of water (adjust according to thickness) and allow it to boil for 5 mins.
    7. Now add cauliflower and peas, mix well. Add water if required and allow the kurma to boil 3 - 5 mins.
    8. Garnish with coriander leaves and switch off.
