Ingredients

  • 1 - big cauliflower cut into medium-sized florets
  • 1 - onion, chopped
  • 2 - tomatoes, chopped finely
  • 1 tsp - chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp - turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp - cumin powder
  • 2 tbsp - oil
  • a few curry leaves
  • salt to taste

How to Make Cauliflower Side Dish

  • Wash and soak the cauliflower florets for an hour in warm salt water.
  • Boil the florets in a little water for 5 minutes, then drain.
  • Heat oil in a pan and saute the onion and curry leaves for a few minutes.
  • Add the tomatoes, chilli powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder and salt. Cook on low heat until the tomatoes turn pulpy.
  • Add the cauliflower florets and mix well.
  • Fry on low heat for a few seconds, then turn off the heat.
  • Serve as a side dish with dal and rice.
