How to Make Chana dal Huggi

  • Cook dal till soft but not mushy. (drain and reserve excess water if any)
  • Roast rawa and cook with 4 cups of water (use the water from dal if reserved).
  • Mix dal and rawa together.
  • Add sugar and ¾ cup of ghee.
  • Cook stirring till it forms a lump.
  • Add grated coconut.
  • Cook for 2 more minutes.
  • Add cardamom powder.
  • Heat remaining ghee.
  • Fry cashew nuts and raisins and add to the huggi.
  • Serve topped with banana slices
