  • 1 cup - channa dal (Bengal gram)
  • 1 - cucumber (coarsely chopped)
  • 1 sprig - coriander leaves (chopped)
  • 2 tbsp - coconut (shredded)
  • a dash of lime
  • salt to taste
  • For seasoning: 2 tsp - oil
  • 1 tsp - mustard seeds

How to Make Channa Dal Salad

  • Soak the channa dal for an hour and drain.
  • Boil the dal till done and keep aside to cool.
  • Add in cucumber, coconut, lime and coriander leaves.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add the mustard seeds.
  • When the seeds start to splutter, add them to the mixture and mix well.
  • Add salt just before serving.
