  • 1/2 cup - Channa dal
  • 3 tbsp - grated Coconut
  • 3/4 cup - grated Jaggery
  • 1 tbsp - Ghee
  • Cashewnuts - a few
  • 1/2 tsp - Cardamom powder
  • 1 cup - Rice flour
  • 2 tbsp - oil
  • How to Make Channa dhal Poorana Kozhukattai:

    1. Take a pan and add 1/2 cup water, 1 tsp oil and little salt and when the water starts to boil, add the rice flour and mix it well and remove from flame and keep it aside covered with a plate
    2. Add the channa dhal in the pan and fry for some time
    3. Cook the above fried channa dhal in the pressure cooker and allow it to cook for 3 whistles.
    4. Strain the excess water from the cooked channa dhal and then grid it lightly in a mixer
    5. Add grated jaggery in a pan and some water to dissolve the jaggery and once the jaggery juice starts thicker then add the grated coconut and grinded channa dhal powder and mix it well and then take it from flame
    6. Fry the cashew in the ghee and then add it in the channa dhal mixture. To this add cardamom powder
    7. Take the rice flour mixture and add sprinkle some warm water and also some oil and mix it well like a dough.
    8. Take some oil in a bowl and take little oil in hand and then take little rice flour ball and make it like a cup and then in the middle of it add the channa dhal pooran ball and then close the flour and keep it aside. Repeat the same for rest of the flour and pooran
    9. Steam cook all these kozhukattai in a Idli plate in the cooker for 5 mins.
