Ingredients

  • For Rice base:
  • 2 cups - Rice flour
  • 3 - eggs (beaten)
  • 1 cup - water
  • 1 cup - Ghee or Butter
  • Salt to taste
  • For Topping:
  • 1/2 lb - chopped/minced Chicken (any other Meat can be used)
  • 1/2 cup - finely chopped Onions
  • 1/2 cup - diced Tomatoes
  • 1 tsp - garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp - ginger, minced
  • 1/2 tsp - freshly ground black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • 3 tbsps - cooking oil/butter

How to Make Chatamari

  • Heat oil
  • Fry onions, garlic and ginger until light brown. Put in minced meat, salt and pepper.
  • Add tomatoes just before the meat is done.
  • Cook until meat is nearly done and keep aside.
  • Mix rice flour, eggs, water and a pinch of salt to make cake-like batter.
  • Heat butter over a pan.
  • Pour in some batter and spread out into a thin crust.
  • Cover the pan and cook just on one side for a few minutes.
  • Don't turn onto the other side.
  • Put the meat topping over it and cook for a few minutes again with lid.
  • Serve hot with spicy achar or chutney.
