4 - potatoes, large
1 - green chilli, chopped
1 tsp - garlic, finely chopped
1/2 tsp -
leaves, finely chopped (optional)
3 tsp - coriander leaves, finely chopped
1/2 tsp -
1 tsp - chilli powder
1/2 tsp - coriander powder
1/2 tsp - cumin powder
1.5 tsp -
Salt to taste
4 tbsp - oil
How to Make Chatpate Aloo
Peel and chop potatoes into thin pieces. Soak them in the water as soon as you chop them.
Heat oil in a skillet or heavy saucepan. Add chopped garlic and chilli, stir fry for half a minute.
Add potatoes and salt, stir fry for 5 minutes. Stir often so that potatoes are cooked evenly.
Add turmeric, chilli powder, coriander, cumin powder, and lemon juice and stir well.
Add mint and coriander leaves and stir gently. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes or till oil separates.
Garnish with freshly grated coconut.
Serve hot with puris, rotis, bread or curd rice.
