Ingredients

  • 2 - Chayote squash, de-skinned and cut into small cubes
  • 1 - onion, chopped finely
  • 1 tsp - oil
  • 1 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp - Cumin seeds for tempering
  • 1 tsp - salt to taste
  • To grind into dry masala: 3 tbsp - fresh grated Coconut
  • 3 - green chilles
  • 1 tsp - Cumin seeds
  • 4 sprigs - Coriander leaves
  • How to Make Chayote Squash:

    1. Heat oil in a pan. Add the cumin seeds and let them splutter.
    2. Add turmeric and onion and saute until it becomes dark pink or light brown.
    3. Add the cubed vegetables and salt. Cover and cook until done.
    4. Add the dry masala, turn off the heat and cover the pan.
