Ingredients

  • 1 big bunch Spinach (washed well and finely chopped)
  • 5 medium sized Potatoes
  • 5 cubes cheese (grated)
  • 5 bread slices
  • 3 tbsp Corn flour
  • 5 to 6 Green chillies (crushed)
  • 2 piece Ginger (crushed)
  • handful finely chopped Coriander leaves
  • 1/2 tsp pepper powder
  • oil for deep frying
  • salt to taste
  • How to Make Cheese and Spinach Balls:

    1. Immerse the washed spinach in boiling water for 2 to 3 minutes.
    2. Remove and put it in plain water for 2 to 3 minutes.
    3. Remove and squeeze out the water completely with your hands.
    4. Grind the spinach coarsely. Keep aside.
    5. Dry grind the bread slices.
    6. Boil the potatoes and mash when still hot.
    7. In a big bowl mix together mashed potatoes, spinach, cheese, crushed green chillies, ginger, coriander leaves, corn flour, pepper powder and salt. Mix gently.
    8. Divide into equal medium sized portions.
    9. Shape each portion into ball.
    10. Deep fry the spinach- cheese balls in hot oil till golden.
    11. Serve hot with tomato ketchup and French fries.
