Ingredients

  • 1/2 kg - chenai (suran)
  • For grinding :
  • 4 tsp - chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • 3 flakes - Garlic
  • 1 - small Onion
  • Ginger, small piece
  • Salt

How to Make Chenai Fry (Karunai Kizhangu)

  • Cut the chenai into medium square pieces of 1/2 inch thickness.
  • In a vessel pour enough water to boil the chenai pieces. Mix in the ground masala paste.
  • Boil it till no water is left and masala is well mixed with the pieces.
  • In a frying pan, pour 2 tbsp oil and fry the chenai pieces till golden brown colour.
