  • 200 g - French beans
  • 1 orange
  • 200 g - tomato
  • 1 cup - boiled chick peas(channa)
  • 1 tbsp - fresh basil, chopped
  • 2 tbsp - olive oil
  • 2 tbsp - lime juice
  • 1 tsp - garlic, chopped and crushed
  • salt and black pepper to taste

How to Make Chick Peas and Beans Salad

  • Cut the beans into 3 cm long pieces and steam till tender, but crunchy.
  • Grate the orange rind and then squeeze the juice.
  • Cut tomatoes into halves and discard the seeds. Chop the flesh into 1 cm cubes.
  • Combine beans, tomato, chick peas and basil together. Toss in the orange rind.
  • Prepare the dressing by mixing olive oil, lime juice, garlic, 3 tbsp of orange juice, salt and pepper.
  • Just before serving, pour the dressing over the salad and toss.
