Ingredients

  • 1 cup - white chick peas
  • 1/4 cup - grated/shredded Coconut
  • 5 - Red Chillies - kaintha milagai
  • 1 tsp - mustard
  • 1 tbsp - black gram dal
  • curry leaves, small quantity
  • coriander leaves, small quantity
  • asafoetida, a pinch
  • salt to taste
  • oil for frying
  • How to Make Chick peas sundal:

    1. Soak channa dal for 8 hours.
    2. Keep in pressure after adding a pinch of salt and water.
    3. Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a pan/kadai and splutter mustard seeds, black gram dal and curry leaves and add boiled channa dal.
    4. Add a pinch of asafoetida and mix them well.
    5. Now add grated/shredded coconut and garnish with coriander leaves.
