Ingredients

  • 500 g - chicken, cut into medium size pieces
  • 1 tbsp - oil
  • 1 bunch spring onion or 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 6 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1/2 inch piece ginger, chopped
  • 1 tsp - thick tamarind paste / 3 tsp tamarind juice ( optional )
  • 100 ml - water ( 1/2 cup )
  • 1 packet ( 70 g ) - Maggi kicap rempah

How to Make Chicken in Maggi Kicap Rempah

  • Wash and clean chicken pieces. Drain out water thoroughly.
  • In a wok / kadai / frying pan, heat oil. Add finely sliced spring onions or onions and fry till light golden colour.
  • Add chopped garlic and ginger. Saute for 2 - 3 minutes.
  • Add maggi kicap rempah and 1 cup ( 100 ml ) water and bring to boil.
  • Add chicken pieces and 1 tsp tamarind paste or juice ( optional ). Cover with a lid and cook on a medium heat for 30 - 35 minutes or until done and gravy thickens.
  • Serve hot with noodles / fried rice / rotis.
