Ingredients

  • 1 kg - chicken, cut into medium-sized pieces
  • 1 tsp - cumin powder
  • 3 - dry red chillies, broken into bits
  • 1 tsp - garlic-ginger paste
  • 3 - tomatoes, chopped
  • 2 - onions, sliced finely
  • 1 tsp - spice powder or Garam Masala powder
  • 1 tsp - ground pepper powder
  • 1/2 tsp - whole pepper Corns
  • 3 tbsp - oil
  • 3/4 cup - red wine
  • salt to taste

How to Make Chicken In Red Wine (a variation of Vindaloo)

  • Heat oil in a pan and add the dry red chillies, onions and pepper corns and fry until golden brown.
  • Add the chicken and saute for a few minutes until it changes colour.
  • Now add the other ingredients and stir well.
  • Simmer on low heat until the chicken is tender and the gravy is thick.
  • Serve with rice, chapatti or bread.
