Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (100 g)- basmati Rice or silky raw Rice
  • 200 g - boneless Chicken pieces
  • 12- Cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 inch piece- ginger, finely chopped
  • 1 -onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp - salt
  • 1/2 tsp - pepper powder
  • 2 cups (400 ml) - water (standard measuring cup of 200 ml / 8 oz capacity)

How to Make Chicken Porridge

  • Wash chicken pieces and drain out water thoroughly.
  • Wash and clean rice. Soak in 1 cup water for 30 minutes. Drain out water.
  • Finally, add rice and other ingredients in a pressure cooker and pressure cook for 15 minutes or until done (reduce high heat to medium after 3 whistle and cook for 10 minutes. Allow the cooker to cool naturally).
  • Sprinkle extra salt and pepper if required when serving. Decorate with spring onion greens or chopped coriander leaves. Serve hot.
