Ingredients

  • 1/2 kg Chicken breast, diced into 3/4 inch pieces
  • 3/4 cup Cashewnuts
  • 1 bowl diced Celery
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 cup oil
  • 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tsp cold water
  • Salt to taste
  • For the sauce:
  • 1 tsp light soya sauce
  • 1 tsp dark soya sauce
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup Chicken broth
  • 1/8 tsp pepper

How to Make Chicken with cashewnuts

  • Heat a wok or deep skillet and add oil. Heat the oil on a low flame. Add chicken pieces and fry slowly.
  • As the chicken turns white, remove it from the wok and set aside.
  • Drain the oil, except about 2 tsps.
  • Turn on a high flame and add the sauce.
  • When the sauce begins to boil, add the cornstarch paste slowly and stir.
  • Then, add the chicken, cashew nuts and celery.
  • Keep stirring until the gravy thickens.
  • Add salt and finally the sesame oil.
  • For sauce: Combine all ingredients in a bowl.
