How to Make Chickpeas Sundal

  • Pressure-cook the chickpeas with salt. Allow 3-4 whistles.
  • Cool and drain the water and reserve it.
  • Heat oil in a pan and splutter the mustard seeds. Then add the urad dal, curry leaves, red chillies and asafoetida. Saute for a minute.
  • Add the cooked chickpeas and stir gently. Cook for 5 minutes.
  • Add grated coconut and mix well. Serve hot.
