Ingredients

  • Bread slices - 12
  • Corn flour - 1 tbsp
  • All purpose flour - 1 tbsp
  • Crushed garlic/ginger - 1 tbsp
  • Tandoori masala - 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander - a small bunch
  • Ghee - 2 tsp
  • Onion - 2
  • Tomato - 3
  • Lemon - 1 (optional)
  • Salt, chilli powder and sugar to taste

How to Make Chilli Bread chaat

  • Cut the bread slices into 2 by 2 inch cubes.
  • Heat 1 tbsp of ghee and fry the bread cubes for just a couple of minutes on medium flame. Sprinkle a little salt.
  • Remove the bread cubes from the pan and heat the remaining ghee.
  • Fry the onions and tomatoes.
  • Mix the flours, crushed ginger/garlic in a small quantity of water. Add this mixture to the pan.
  • Let the sauce boil for 5 minutes.
  • Add tandoori masala and some more ghee if required.
  • Add salt, chilli powder and a little sugar.
  • Now add the fried bread cubes into this mixture and stir well on medium flame.
  • When the mixture starts getting drier, remove from the heat.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and slices of lime. Serve hot.
