How to Make Chilli Idli

  • Grind tomato with chilli powder and turmeric powder.
  • In the ground paste, add salt, garam masala, red food colour, maida and rice flour and mix well.
  • The batter should be of bajji batter consistency.
  • Cut idlis into 4 pieces.
  • In a wide pan, heat oil and fry onions and capsicum with salt and keep them separately.
  • Dip the idli pieces in the batter, and in the same pan, heat oil and shallow fry the idlis.
  • Fry for 4 minutes till it becomes crisp and season with finely cut coriander leaves, curry leaves and fried onion mixture.
