  • 4 - golden apples
  • 1 - Egg
  • 50-100 g - plain white flour
  • 300 ml - water
  • 320 ml - vegetable oil for frying
  • 90 g or 6 tbsp - white Sugar
  • 15 ml or 1 tbsp - sesame seeds
  • How to Make Chinese Toffee Apples:

    1. Peal, core and cut the apples into large cubes.
    2. To prepare the the batter, add water in a mixing bowl with plain flour and egg. Mix into a paste, not too thick or thin.
    3. Dip each piece of apple in the batter and fry in a wok for about 10 to 15 minutes until golden brown. Drain and keep aside.
    4. Heat 20 ml of oil in a wok, stir the sugar and heat for about 5 minutes.
    5. Gently mix the apples with the sugar and add the sesame seeds.
    6. Place in a bowl of cold water to harden, drain and serve.
