Ingredients

  • 400 g - prawns, medium-sized
  • 50 g - mustard seeds, soaked in water
  • 1 cup - Coconut Milk
  • 1/2 tsp - Turmeric powder
  • salt to taste
  • 1 - tomato, medium-sized, grated
  • 2-3 - Green chillies
  • How to Make Chingri Malaikari:

    1. Marinate the prawns with turmeric powder and salt for 10 minutes.
    2. Heat oil in a pan and fry the prawns. Keep aside.
    3. Grind the soaked mustard seeds into a smooth paste.
    4. Cook the mustard paste, tomato and the coconut milk in oil. l
    5. Add the fried prawns to it and cook for 5-7 minutes until the mustard paste mixes well with the prawns.
    6. Add salt to taste and the green chillies.
    7. Serve with steamed rice.
