How to Make

  • Wash moong dal and rice thoroughly.
  • Heat oil in pan. Add mustard seeds and 1/2 tsp jeera and pepper corns.
  • After it splutters, add curry leaves and chopped green chillies and ginger. Add the rice and moong dal and fry for 2 minutes.
  • Add turmeric powder and salt. Pour warm water and bring to a boil. Cook on low flame. Keep stirring, to prevent it from sticking to bottom. When the rice is cooked add lime juice. Remove from flame.
  • Garnish with coconut gratings and carrot gratings. Serve hot with papads.
