Ingredients

  • 1 cup - Skimmed milk
  • 1/4 cup - Skimmed milk powder
  • 1/4 cup - Cocoa powder
  • 3/4 cup - Sugar
  • 1/2 cup - Toasted wheat bran
  • 1/4 cup - Puffed rice crispies
  • 4 to 5 drops - Vanilla essence
  • 2 tbsp - Butter

How to Make Chocolate Balls

  • Mix cocoa and skimmed milk powder together.
  • Add 1/2 cup skimmed milk, and dissolve the powders in it to make a smooth paste.
  • Put butter and sugar in a non-stick pan.
  • Place on low heat, stirring occasionally, till it melts fully.
  • Add the remaining skimmed milk and bring it to a boil.
  • Add prepared paste, gradually pouring it, while gently stirring the mixture till a very soft lump is formed.
  • Mixture should leave the sides of the pan easily.
  • Add vanilla essence, rice crispies and half the wheat bran.
  • Take off fire, and continue mixing till the mixture can be held in the hand.
  • Roll into small balls between both palms.
  • Roll these balls in the remaining bran till they are coated all over.
  • Refrigerate on a sheet of butter paper, till well set.
  • Store refrigerated in an air-tight container.
