How to Make Chocolate Stuffed Eggless Doughnut

  • Take the yeast in a glass and mix it in the milk adding 1 tbsp sugar to it.
  • Keep it aside for 10 mins or till it rises.
  • Take the flour, 1/3 cup sugar and salt in a bowl.
  • Add the risen yeast and vanilla essence to the flour mixture and knead it gently till you get a smooth and very soft dough.
  • Add the softened butter and knead gently for 3 more mins.
  • Cover it with a plastic wrap and keep in a warm place to rise, approximately 30 mins -1 hour
  • Once the dough has risen to double its quantity, knead it lightly again to take out the air.
  • The dough would be little sticky at this stage, so keep extra flour handy as you may need to add some while kneading.
  • Dust the rolling pin and the rolling surface with flour and roll out the dough to 1 cm thickness.
  • Cut out circles of approximately 3 inch diameter.
  • Pour the thick chocolate sauce or chopped chocolate.
  • Carefully take the edge and bring to the centre and press to secure.
  • Continue this till the entire portion with chocolate sauce/chocolate piece is covered.
  • Using a bottle cap, cut off the middle portion to get doughnut shape.
  • Keep the cut out doughnuts on a flour dusted plate for rising for another 30 minutes or till it doubles in size.
  • For frying:
  • Heat oil in a deep bottomed pan on medium heat.
  • Test the oil by dropping in bits of dough.
  • If the dough floats immediately after immersing, it means the heat is right.
  • Now gently drop the doughnuts into the oil one after the other.
  • If the dough has risen enough, they would float immediately in the oil.
  • Fry the doughnuts on a medium flame till it is golden brown by constantly flipping them over.
  • Drain onto an absorbent paper.
  • Glaze it according to your liking and serve warm.
  • For baking:
  • Bake the doughnuts in a preheated oven of 200 C for approximately 8 minutes or till it turns golden brown in colour.
