  • 4 tsp -yeast
  • 2 tbsp -softened Butter
  • 1 tsp - salt
  • 1 tsp -vanilla essence
  • Chocolate sauce - as required
  • Oil for frying
  • How to Make Chocolate Stuffed Eggless Doughnut:

    1. Take the yeast in a glass and mix it in the milk adding 1 tbsp sugar to it.
    2. Keep it aside for 10 mins or till it rises.
    3. Take the flour, 1/3 cup sugar and salt in a bowl.
    4. Add the risen yeast and vanilla essence to the flour mixture and knead it gently till you get a smooth and very soft dough.
    5. Add the softened butter and knead gently for 3 more mins.
    6. Cover it with a plastic wrap and keep in a warm place to rise, approximately 30 mins -1 hour
    7. Once the dough has risen to double its quantity, knead it lightly again to take out the air.
    8. The dough would be little sticky at this stage, so keep extra flour handy as you may need to add some while kneading.
    9. Dust the rolling pin and the rolling surface with flour and roll out the dough to 1 cm thickness.
    10. Cut out circles of approximately 3 inch diameter.
    11. Pour the thick chocolate sauce or chopped chocolate.
    12. Carefully take the edge and bring to the centre and press to secure.
    13. Continue this till the entire portion with chocolate sauce/chocolate piece is covered.
    14. Using a bottle cap, cut off the middle portion to get doughnut shape.
    15. Keep the cut out doughnuts on a flour dusted plate for rising for another 30 minutes or till it doubles in size.
    16. For frying:
    17. Heat oil in a deep bottomed pan on medium heat.
    18. Test the oil by dropping in bits of dough.
    19. If the dough floats immediately after immersing, it means the heat is right.
    20. Now gently drop the doughnuts into the oil one after the other.
    21. If the dough has risen enough, they would float immediately in the oil.
    22. Fry the doughnuts on a medium flame till it is golden brown by constantly flipping them over.
    23. Drain onto an absorbent paper.
    24. Glaze it according to your liking and serve warm.
    25. For baking:
    26. Bake the doughnuts in a preheated oven of 200 C for approximately 8 minutes or till it turns golden brown in colour.
