Ingredients

  • 1 - medium chow chow
  • 3 tbsp - fresh coconut
  • 3 tbsp - urad dal
  • 2 - red chillies
  • 1 tsp - mustard
  • 1 - tamarind, marble size

How to Make Chow-chow Chutney

  • Grate chow chow finely.
  • Heat 1 teaspoon of oil, and fry the urad dal, red chillies, mustard, and tamarind.
  • Then add chow chow and saute for 3 to 4 minutes.
  • Grind all the ingredients inclusding coconut into a fine paste.
  • This can be mixed with rice and a little ghee or it can be served with idli and dosa.
